Why does a PS2 have a USB input?

Portable Cooling fan 5V USB power input, not sure if I should use USB AC 5V adapter?

  • I recently purchased a cooling pad (http://www.coolermaster-usa.com/product.php?product_id=3047)for my laptop in order to keep it from over heating. The unit comes with a USB cord to plug into a laptop to power the unit. In order to keep the fan from draining my battery, I was planning on getting a 5V usb adapter to plug into a power outlet in order to power the fan without draining my battery. Is it ok to use any 5V usb adapter or should I get a specific adapter? This is the adapter I was planning on getting (http://www.amazon.com/Blackberry-Charger-Adapter-Power-Storm2/dp/B00474VU72/ref=sr_1_5?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1327611131&sr=1-5). I have the same one for my phone and it says it is a 5V adapter. Is this o.k? Or am I at risk of ruining my new laptop cooler? Thanks a lot for your help!
