How do i connect my laptop to my HD samsung tv?

  • ok so i have a sony vaio fw230 and im trying to connect to my HD 1080p lcd samsung tv. im using an hdmi cable from my laptop to the tv but my tv hdmi option isnt lighting up either it aint recognizing the laptop or the hdmi port is busted which i doubt. - i have tried to make the screen resolution small, still doesnt work - i went to personalize, n clicked on " connect to a projector or other external display " then pressed connect display n its connected but my tv is still not recognizing - tried to shutoff both laptop n tv n restarted it but still wont work. - tried holding the function button and press F7 which is the LCD to monitor but still doesnt work. any help anyone? also im using windows vista

    I have exactly all the same things, vaio laptop and samsung tv.... You need to get yourself a vga cable, which you can get pretty cheap on ebay!! Hope your up and running soon
