What is safe mode?

My laptop keeps going into what seems like safe mode, and I can't stop it from happening!!!!!?

  • I have a Toshiba Satellite with Windows Vista, and I realized that the built-in webcam didn't show its settings anymore on my desktop when I scrolled over the intended spot it was supposed to appear. So I went into my laptop's programs and "repaired" it, but when it was half way through, it's like my computer went into safe mode .. All the icons on my desktop and everything were HUGE and really crappy quality, I couldn't see check boxes or anything. And I kept restarting my computer, and it would come back fine but it would go right back into safe mode. How can I get my webcam settings back on the desktop, AND keep my laptop from going into safe mode???? PLEASE HELP

    there may be a virus in ur laptop or install the web cam(software cd) again

you have to go into settings and make it stop. I hate it myself. I think its like when my computer goes into "hibernation" its just to ensure that if power went out and your laptop was hooked up, then you wouldn't lose everything. I know it is rather annoying!

At the boot screen, right when you restart your computer, It might prompt you to press F2 or F12, or another F key. It will only flash for about 1 second at the boot screen. If you get it, there might be a "Start Windows Normally" button. Press that and you should be good to go.

You have to go to settings, i had the same problem

It sounds like you are getting no AC/electricity for whatever reason, and the battery is weak. So you boot up, and it immediately shuts down; and you do that repeatedly. It needs juice. You also may need to go to the Control Panel and adjust your Power Options.
