Can i play WOW on dell studio 15?
-
Right now dell has a pretty good coupon for this laptop so if i do buy it it has to be by april 30. The problem with waiting and seeing if something else comes out is that i need a laptop this summer for some summer courses and my desktop is on its death bed right now. I can get a way cheaper laptop but i am willing to pay the extra hundreds just to play wow. So how well will this laptop work with wrath of the lich king? i know the graphics card is crap but its the best that they will do... Answer:
WoW will run on your system just fine, as the system requirements state the following: * Windows Vista or Windows XP * Intel Pentium 4 or AMD Athlon XP 1500+ 1300 MHz * 512 MB or more of RAM (1 GB for Vista Users) * 32 MB 3D video card with Hardware T&L or better * 15 GB free HD space * 4× CD-ROM drive * Broadband Internet connection so, since your machine is a 2.4 Ghz dual core with 4GBs of main memory, and a 250GB hard drive, it will run pretty well, thought the graphics card may limit the game somewhat

WOW is very variable and can really suck up some graphics power in many places depending on the activity level. So it all depends on your patience for laggy performance. You should try the Studio 17 which gives you a 3650 but even that will suck at many points in the game. And anyone who believes the minimum system requirements from any game manufacturer either hasn't actually played the game involved or is living in more of a fantasy world than the game itself... Also keep in mind that the same model graphics chip in a laptop will be very underpowered compared to the same model number in a desktop. The reality is that you will need a 8800 or greater if you are really into gaming and to really enjoy it, a 280 can't hurt... Check here to see: http://www.notebookcheck.net/Computer-Games-on-Laptop-Graphic-Cards.13849.0.html Try these top 3 brands to get at least a 8800: http://www.sagernotebook.com/default.php http://www.alienware.com/ http://www.falcon-nw.com/ If you get the Studio, make sure you select the 7200 rpm hard drive upgrade. You will thank yourself for the lifetime of the laptop as it makes a huge difference.

Depends on your budget ! Alienware and XPS as proposed by some others can kick *** but on the way, they will also kick your wallet until it cries Uncle ! The basic configurations are , well, basic. There are two new systems being hailed as great from (surprisingly) HP, they are called the HDX 16 and the HDX 18. Check out these reviews about them: http://www.laptopmag.com/review/laptops/hp-pavilion-hdx-16.aspx http://www.laptopmag.com/review/laptops/hp-hdx-18.aspx http://www.hardwaregeeks.com/index.php/GadgetBlog%20%20/comments/review_hp_pavilion_hdx_entertainment_series_notebook_hdx18/ http://www.hardwaregeeks.com/index.php/site/cfhdxnotebook/ And now, go look at them: http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/shopping/computer_can_series.do?storeName=computer_store&category=notebooks&a1=Category&v1=Performance+and+entertainment&series_name=HDX16t_series Priced from 999.99 and with a nice Quick-ship model @ $1,099.99 http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/shopping/computer_series.do?storeName=computer_store&category=notebooks&series_name=HDX18t_series&a1=Category&v1=Performance+and+entertainment Priced from 1299.99 ( No Quick-ship model for this one ) Hope this helps
