What is causing my fuzzy/vibrating computer screen?

Does any one else have this problem with their Hp laptop dv2000 computer?

  • I got this laptop computer about a year ago and it was working fine. As time went on I started having a couple of problems recently with the screen. First is that sometimes when I start the computer up, the screen doesn't turn on, causing me to restart it until it works. Another strange problem is that at any random moment I'm on the computer, it freezes without warning, and the screen shows a pattern of rectangles all over the screen of what I was watching or doing. I can't do crl, alt, del, or anything, so I end up shutting it down and turning it on again. Its kinda scary how it looks when it does it. Im not sure what the problem is, but I tried keeping the computer cool because it tends to get pretty hot. I have had other problems like if I plug in an external device such as a portable hard drive or external fan for the computer, it crashes the computer, coming up with the blue screen. I still like this computer, I just want to know what may be causing these problems. I don't think there is any connection issues with the screen, but I'm no computer expert so that's why I'm asking the public for help.
