Is it possible to get the internet on my laptop from the connection of my cellphone?

So I am going to have to go on a budget I think.. Which means to go lower on my phone bill and bills. So I was wondering if I can connect my phone to my laptop and get internet usage on my laptop that way some how. anyways I am now with att, but am thinking about changing to a lower plan you know those 50 dollars a month tye of plans with everything on it.

yes there is a way. for an iphone, you have to jailbreak it and turn it into an access point. then you connect your laptop to the iphone access point and use the 3g as your internet.

Beware that using your phone as a hotspot -- if it is compatible - can easily rack up 100s of dollars in data on your plan. You don't get unlimited cellular data even if you have unlimited phone minutes.
