Sony Vaio recovery disc.

Sony Vaio No HD detected?

  • I have a sony vaio laptop (VGN-FW235J/H) that froze up last week. When I rebooted it, it read "operating system not found." When I entered the BIOS menu, the HD was not found. After about a dozen atempts, it found the HD. I then inserted the windows recovery disc and used the "FIXMBR" comand and it fixed it for the day. Then the next day the same thing happened, the BIOS did not detect the HD, then after about 20 reboots it eventually found it. I used the "FIXMBR" command and it worked for like 5 straight day without issues. The computer has now frozen up again and this time the BIOS does not detect the HD at all. I cannot do anything in windows recovery without the HD detected. I've run every test on the computer and it says its fine. I've even hooked up my HD to another Computer and everything fine with it. What should I do?

  • Answer:

The recovery partition of your Sony VAIO notebook can sometimes show certain kinds of problems. As a result of these problems, the disk is not detected and the operating system becomes non-functional. Just press the ‘F10’ key and get back the recovery disk. In case the operating system, like Windows®, is still working, you can recover the disk by using the ‘Fdisk’ option.
