Why does my HP laptop hang or freeze?

My hp laptop hangs or freezes... why?

  • i have installed windows 7 in my hp compaq 8510w. it started freezing or hanging without any reason. the only method is to reset the power. and after sometime it freezes again. the desktop behaves like a still picture. i have done repeated installation of windows to solve the issue but no achievement. replaced RAM also but the problem is not solved. plz can someone tell me what to do and why my laptop is behaving like that?

  • Answer:

Replace Operating Sysytem and reboot installation of windows 7. If the problem persists then consult an computer specialist for basic system requirement of the os. But only for windows7 otherwise you can continue working with ur old os by reinstalling it.

The most likely cause is a bloated registry which has become the home for all kinds of useless bits and pieces of data. Whenever any change is made to the system settings or a program is installed or uninstalled, a new entry is generated in the registry. The operating system while running your computer has to pick its way through all this excess material. There is a multitude of useless bits and pieces to be removed.Parts of uninstalled programs, parts of incompletely installed programs, dead drivers and many other things. clean your registry and remove all the useless data fragments and no longer needed information to fix the freeze error! I should like to commend Registry Easy http://make-a-computer-run-better.com to you ! You can try ! Good luck!

Hey- I know this one! You're using that Stoned Age Operating System, that is made out of all these frankenstein monster assembled ripped-off parts that are so incompatible that they have to revise it every year to get it to work something like properly! What is it that they called that stuff..... uh, um... don't tell me, I'll remember it in a minute.... WINDOWS!!! Oh yeahhh..! I got good news for you- THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH YOUR LAPTOP! There is a completely SIMPLE SOLUTION to your problem! (I learned this from ERIC S. RAYMOND- How to Become a Hacker.) Restart your system with a bootable Linux CD. At the prompt, type the following command: FORMAT C: Press [ENTER]. ALL of these problems you have been experiencing will disappear for ever and ever!

LOTS OF FOLKS ARE HAVING PROBLEMS UPDATING TO THE 7,DID YOU RUN THE TEST TO SEE IF YOURS WOULD UPDATE??i do not believe in the update.PERIOD,always problems, you may have been better off to have gotten a new system with it ALREADY INSTALLED,you probaly will spend more getting yours fixed right than a new one would have cost///////
