Why can't I get my Logitech webcam to work on my Toshiba Satellite laptop?

I got this Logitech webcam for my Toshiba Satellite laptop, so that I could video chat and such, but now it is not working. My laptop is telling me that no webcam is attached when it is indeed plugged into my laptop. I have seen it work on another persons laptop, but not on mine. Solutions?

Answer:
you likely have a missing driver which your Laptop has not auto detected. Just go on the logitech website, -> downloads -> drivers, punch in the model number, download the driver and if your webcam is not defective, should begin working fine. Also, you will need a program( skype, youcam etc.) to run the webcam, it will not run on its own. hope that helps.
