I need help choosing either a HP or Sony laptop!?
-
I'm getting a laptop for college. I bought a Lenovo last week but returned it for a laptop with better graphics. My computer is mostly for running Microsoft Home & Student but I would also like to be able to play some games. Not too many, just like Sims 3, Portal 2, Elder Scrolls 5, and maybe some later on. Here are the two laptops I have narrowed down to that (barely) fit in my price range: The HP dm4x for $894.99 (INCLUDING HOME & STUDENT) Operating system: Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Office software: Microsoft(R) Office Home and Student 2010 Processor: 2nd generation Intel(R) Dual Core(TM) i5-2410M (2.3 GHz, 3MB L3 Cache) with Turbo Boost up to 2.9GHz Graphics card: 1GB DDR3 Radeon(TM) HD 6470M Graphics [HDMI, VGA] Memory: 6GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm) Hard drive: 640GB 5400RPM Hard Drive with HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection Display: 14.0" diagonal High-Definition HP BrightView LED Display (1366 x 768) Primary optical drive: SuperMulti 8X DVD+/-R/RW with Double Layer Support Personalization: HP TrueVision HD Webcam with Integrated Digital Microphone and HP SimplePass Fingerprint Reader and the Sony VAIO VPCEA490X for $898.99 (INCLUDING HOME & STUDENT) Processor: Intel® Core™ i5-480M processor (2.66GHz) with Turbo Boost up to 2.93GHz Operating system: Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium 64-bit Hard drive: 320GB Hard Disk Drive (5400rpm) Memory: 4GB (2GBx2) DDR3-SDRAM-1066 Display: 14" VAIO Display with LED backlight (1366 x 768) Graphics card: ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 5470 GPU (512MB VRAM I'm not too worried about having a bigger hard drive. Is the difference between a 4 and 6G RAM that big? I would go with the HP becuase of the better features but I heard Sony is better in the long run. I also love how the VAIO looks but I guess that isn't important :P What would you choose? Also, any other laptop suggestions that are similar to these??
