What can I do with drive "D" my recovery drive?

Can't get out of the recovery drive on vista laptop (Dell)?

My daughters computer went to the blue screen, she put in the os disk and it came up and loaded the problem is no anti virus anymore and it won't let me out of the recovery drive everything I try to install goes straight to the recovery drive. I don't know that much about Vista. I can't find the factory boot order. I have zero restore points or back ups anymore. She didn't put any back ups anywhere except on the stupid computer. I can't reformat and can't repair. I'm sure she has a virus in it. If someone can give me a list of the files that belong in the recovery drive, I can delete everything else. And a list of the boot sequence. This is day 3 of working all day on this beast reading forum after forum. Thanks in advance.

U could try running a good antivirus program (- I recommend the AVIRA Anti-Virus FREE program) from a USB/thumb-drive. Just download the setup file onto the thumb-drive by changing the default download location on your browser, & run the setup from the thumb-drive itself. Hope this helps!
