Will the warranty on my HP laptop cover?

Question about dropped laptop and it's warranty?

I have an HP laptop, which was dropped and broken (it still functions, but not properly) We brought the laptop into best buy and they said they couldn't do anything about drops or spills, because that's not what the warranty entailed. last night I was browsing HP.ca and it said that warranty does cover spills and drops. This is what the warranty package on the site says "Up to ____ years coverage from damage caused by spills, drops, or electrical surge" My question is, if i brought the laptop in do you think i'd be able to exchange it for a new one?

I would contact HP about the laptopo and see what they say because if that is in they're warranty then they would have to honor it. Best Buy does not have to do anything about the laptop because it is not they're problem due to it being out of the 15day satisfaction guarantee and also due to they're own policy.
