How do you use a new webcam on a laptop with a webcam already built into it?

my webcam sucks, so i'm buying a new hd one to use instead. but how do i use it in skype and when i make videos, if I already have the built in camera?

If it came properly configured, you should just be able to use it. Software like Skype, Yahoo or any other app that uses video should detect it and away you go. If it is not... Make sure the driver is installed. Best of luck,
