How to burn pc games to dvd?

My Laptop's Sony DVD Writer will burn DVDs, but wont read any DVDs.. Strange! Help!?

• Well i am currently using a Sony Optiarc DVD RW AD-7580A ATA drive for my HP Compaq Laptop. I have been this drive for almost more than a year but less than 2 yrs. I changed this drive after my previous drive, HP DVD RW UJ-860 ATA drive went faulty. I was using that since 2008 jan until 2010 feb. Both HP and Sony faced and is facing probably a similar kind of problem, thats "disc gone unreadable". Its Strange... I was using HP drive pretty good for 2 years. Never used a scratched Disc nor touched the lens. I probably would have written at-least 25 to 30 disc with that HP drive. I used the drive just 2 days ago (in the month of jan 2010), and it was fine. I again tried to use an another new DVD 2 days after and the DVD was unreadable. I tried an another one, no use. At the same time, after some 10 days my laptop too got corrupted due to some unknown issue (bad luck and sad). And since i was not able to reboot/reinstall Vista without a DVD Drive which requires inserting of installation DVD, i had to buy and install a new Writer and then use it to Reinstall my OS. That new drive was Sony Optiarc. From then, until now i was using that and it was fine. I probably would have written at-least 15 DVD with this one till now and never ever used a scratched disc. I only use sony DVD to write and read (not the loose one, but only buy and use boxed Sony DVDs for safety). 10 days ago i burnt some songs into a new blank Sony DVD-R for my colleague and it worked fine (by rechecking). yesterday, when i tried to read a DVD (which had some games), the disc was not recognized by the drive. i used at-least 5 different discs to test it, but no positive result. I thought, this one is also gone dead alike my older HP drive. But here comes an non-understanding situation. It fact a confused state. The confusion is - I inserted a new blank DVD into drive and surprisingly, it was recognized as 4.38gb free. I inserted an second blank one and it was recognized tooo! So i immidiately tried to burn some files into that blank one (thinking that it wont start, or if starts, will fail).. Surprisingly again, the burn was successful! I still had a doubt that, are the burnt files good or corrupted. So i took the DVD to my brother's desktop PC and inserted into its LG drive and it read the file and the media was played successfully! Now the point is clear.... The blank DVDs are readable and burnable with a success rate of 100% (and are readable too with other drives and PCs). But the burnt DVD is readable 0% with my optiarc.. Some points - My Laptop - HP Compaq 6710b (2008 jan) OS - Vista Optical Drive - Sony Optiarc DVD RW AD-7580A ATA Driver update - Upto date Burning software - None, use only vista drag-drop-burn method (removed nero 9 five months ago as i felt i was the main culprit, as i lost atleast 4 DVD due to burn failure becoz of nero) burning speed - 2x (the only option available) Disc company - Only Sony (Boxed) Never touched the lens with naked fingers Never tried to clean the lens by myself Never play and watch media or play games directly from DVD. Things i noticed for last 2 days when a written DVD is inserted - Led glows as usual The Rotation speed (RPM) of the disc is varied when disc is inside. It also makes some kind of minute beep sound from inside of drive mixed with struck/vibration kinda sound. I did not try to any registry modification work. (As i feel, its of no use, becoz i already tried with my previous HP drive and was useless. i also think was could also might be the reason of my OS corruption 2 years ago). I have faced different problems with different drives for past 14 years of PC use, like - - tray problem - Will read disc but wont write - Burning problem - Calibration Errors - Burning Software Errors But people, NOW I AM TOTALLY CONFUSED with this new strange problem... What should i do.. Pls help, suggest, positive answers... HELP!!!

  Press Windows + R -> type "regedit" press "enter" -> "continue" -> HKey_local_machine -> SYSTEM -> CURRENT CONTROL SET -> CLASS -> {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} -> Delete upper filters and lower filters
