Why does my laptops computer screen go black?

  • My laptop's computer screen frequently goes black. It seems to only happen when I move the screen or tilt it a certain way although I don't know what way that actually is. It also seems to happen when I touch the power cord plugged into my comptuer a certain way. Their is no picture in the backround at all, even if you stare real hard you can't make out anything, it's just pitch black. It almost looks as if it's hibernating. Usually when I shut the computer screen, open it back up, and then move the mouse(like, when you wake it up), it comes back on fine. Even when I do that, I sometimes have to do it 3 or 4 times in order to get the screen back up. Does anyone have a remedy for this problem?

I'm not sure if there's a correlation between you tilting the screen and things getting better, but could be that the screen is dying and depending on the laptop model then you will have to replace the whole LCD panel. As for when you touch the power cord, could be that you have a back power jack/the inverter board is going bad, Good luck matador
