How do i find the right laptop screen for my laptop?

i got a dell inspiron mini 1012 for free but the screen is cracked. i want to buy a new screen to replace it but i do not know how to find the right screen. i checked on ebay and all of them saids that i have to find the right screen because some laptops have different screens then other. i have to find the right BLACKLIGHT TYPE SIZE AND RESOLUTION before i can buy the screen cause i dont want to buy the worng kind. how can i find out how to know what the model of my screen is?
