Why is my hp wireless mouse not working?

I have a HP wifi wireless mouse that stopped working?

i have had it for 2 months and it was working great. i was using it one day and i just stopped working and it was blinking showing that it wasn't connected. i tried new batteries, re-connecting the mouse, and updating my laptop. i need a wireless mouse because my touch-pad doesn't work very well, it needs to be a wireless mouse as well but i cant afford a new one. and yes i am running windows 7. it is a newer laptop and its not a notebook
