Where can I get a good laptop?

Where can I get a good gaming laptop?

  • I want a good gaming laptop for like bioshock, call of duty, left 4 dead, and ESPECIALLY WoW. maybe even some of the newer games. I can't seem to find a core 2 quad gaming laptop anywhere for a reasonable price. i want it to have blu ray reader at least, at least 4gb ddr3 (6gb ddr3 would be nice but not essential), hdmi output, and of course intel core 2 quad and all this for $1,000 or under. this doesn't seem like it would be hard to find, because core i7 is only a few hundred more for one like this. and considering the games i play, do I even need a core 2 quad? would core 2 duo settle it? maybe a cheaper amd even? core i3/i5? give me your thoughts please. oh and 7200rpm hard drive essential because i will do lots of downloads etc.

Core 2 Quad? Are you insane? The few "laptops" that had a Core 2 Quad were hugely expensive, monstrous bricks with total crap for battery life. The Core i7 laptops are better anyway. But if you can't swing an i7, get an i3 or i5 laptop. That's the best option out there right now. 7200rpm isn't necessary, but it's a nice perk if it fits the budget. And don't ask Best Buy's trained monkeys and flunkies about computers. You'll likely get a line of crap from someone who doesn't know what he's talking about.

go to best buy and talk to the computer specialist there (theres like three, mac specialist, pc specialist, and a hardware specialist.) if there not all busy, get them all together and tell them what you want and they will pick the best computer for you. trust me thats how i got my laptop and i love it

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220715 700$ will run those games probably on medium without anti aliasing and other useless graphic features without wasting all your money just because there are gaming laptop elitists out there that will tell you there is no such thing as a gaming laptop under 1000$ long sentence i know but i can't believe i had to find this thing myself. it's like they hide laptops like this from us cause they want us to waste money. ***holes.
