Which laptop is better Gateway or HP?

Never even heard of Gateway laptops.. lol I own a HP Pavillion dv6, it's ****** awesome, you should check out the HP Pavillion series, they're expensive, but you get what you pay for ;)

HP has better support but if you're wondering about performance we would need to know the specs of both computers.

In my opinion I will suggest that you should go for a Refurbished HP laptops which are far better then Gateway. These refurbished laptops are really great and comes with good warranty as well as with good physical condition which gives them the edge. Not HP, HP's are pretty poorly designed and like to overheat. Also, HP has awful tech support. They're really nice and helpful for the first few months, but after that they have absolutely no intent on talking to you and make you pay even if you're just asking a question. They're also reluctant to fix things for you and you have to go through long phone conversations to get defective things fixed (shipped me 2 monitors with bad pixels before I finally convinced them I wasn't accepting a defective monitor), after paying them to fix my laptop (where they obviously took very poor care of it, as it came back with a massive gash on the front panel) it took like a 20-message e-mail conversation of being forwarded to the next clueless idiot who started completely over with me before they finally got the message, it came back with a new plate but no stickers, and I asked them for stickers but they never showed up, my screen (dv9700t, 17" laptop) is starting to go out occasionally, and this laptop ISN'T EVEN 2 YEARS OLD! Not to mention this isn't an exception, the exception is an HP laptop that actually lives to be 2 years old without failing or having parts replaced. I used to love HP products, but their latest offerings have been of abysmal quality and I cannot recommend them, even to my worst enemies, as that would give HP money they don't deserve until they shape up and produce decent products again.
