Why wont my laptop wont turn on..?

  • i have a lenovo thinkpad edge unfortunately i dont know the model number since it is a computer the school gave us, but i was using it one night and decided to restart it to switch operating system (i have one for school and one for home) but when it shut down it didnt start back up, it was plugged in and fully charged but it just wont turn on any more, the little red light is still flashing though, which normally means its turned on can anyone help?

if the battery is drained fully it wont start. buy a new battery for it.

if its indicating that it is turned on, it most likely is. sounds like your screen isnt working properly. in laptops its a bit harder to fix than desktops. i suggest you take it to a computer shop and they can tell you a few options or fix it for you.

HOLD THE POWER BUTTON LIKE FOR 15 SECONDS IF DONT WORK REMOVE MEMORY, HARD DRIVE AND THE BATERY UMPLUG YOUR LAPTOP AND THEM PUT EVERITHING BACK IF NOT .CONECT A MONITOR IN THE BACK TO SEE IF IS YOUR SCREEN PROBLEM GOOD LUCK

Its screen may have gotten crashed. I mean, it is on but you cannot see the display. well, theres only one thing you can do, go to the technician. Once i tried formatting my alptop when it had a similar problem but all that happened was that my data was lost. But before doing anything, be sure to backup all your data.

Okay i've had similar problems with a dell computer. I haven't pinpointed the exact cause, but i managed to get it up and running again after simply removing the memory stick and putting it back in. However, your computer might be more difficult, and might have a problem with the motherboard, or perhaps it might just be faulty wiring to the monitor.
