Why is my laptop still charging when the battery is not plugged in?

I have a dell laptop which is not charging the battery, (plugged in, not charing) any suggestion?

  • It is XPS M1330, bought it in America, have it with me and used in the UK perfectly fine for almost a year. It was charging with a UK adaptor for vistors to the UK, using the original charger. Recently stopped charging the battery and i used universal charge still does not charge the battery. Is there anything I can do to fix it.

  • Answer:

Now that you have uesd the battery for one year. You should consider to purchase a new one to replace the old one for your laptop. If the battery is dead,no one can fix it.You shouldn't have this thought.

you just need a new battery. this happens to all laptops eventually

Sounds like you need to replace the battery.

Is the laptop working while plugged in? If so its the battery, replace it. www.batteriesplus.com is a good source. If its not working while plugged in could be the transformer or the socket on the motherboard (a common problem on dells) If it is the transformer no big deal get a new one, if its the socket you will need to send it off for repair.

it could be the battery or the jack, sometimes it comes loose if you drop or move your laptop

The battery die, try another one. if theproblem is the charget try using it without the battety. You need to buy the laptops in you contry, electric specifications are different in each country also try using a power-safe plugs that control the amount of energy that enter to the machine(computers, tv, stereo, etc)
