I need help hooking my PC up to my high def tv.

Hooking up PC to TV. Need help :(?

  • So I am trying not to screw up here. My laptop only has a VGA plug in the back. No S-video plug. My television only has an S-video plug. If I were to get a VGA to S-video plug from the store, would that work? Or would it only produce the visual without the sound? Do i need to get a PC to TV converter? If someone could just tell me exactly what to get, that would be nice. Thank you so much. -tori

VGA doesn't carry sound.. so you'll need a VGA - S-Video Plug & an Audio to Audio wire if your TV takes one as "input" if not your going to need a new TV, or one of those expensive TV convertors.. Basically you need to put a jack in the computer headphone port then in the audio in port in lcd
