Laptop cannot pick up Wireless-N 5Ghz?
-
My brand new acer aspire 5552-3680 cannot pick up my 5Ghz signal. I don't see how it can't do this because my last laptop as an acer aspire 9410 and it picked on the 5GHz on Wireless-A. This laptop is far newer and I'd like to use the 5Ghz channel so that I can game without interference from other people on the 2.4 Ghz channel which is also what our wireless phone uses. There are no driver updates for my network adapters. Is there some configuration I can do to make my computer puck up the 5Ghz channel? The router is a linksys WRT-600N, yes it's old but it has done me well.

Answer:
remove your network adapter drivers for the acer aspire from the device manager. After than if feasible connect the laptop through a LAN cable and do a windows Update. Hopefully windows update will install the most suitable driver for your network adapter.

It might be that the adapter is not dual band, look into that.
