How to change icons on Macbook?

Help! I need help with my new macbook!?

  • Hello, So, I got a Macbook today. And you know how on all of the macbooks, the desktop icons are on the bottom of the screen?? I don't like that, aha So I was wondering how you change them to so that the icons are in columns like on other computers?

  • Answer:

If you are talking about the dock, open System Preferences (under the apple icon in the upper left hand corner) and select Dock - you can change the size or put it on the left or right side of the screen and even hide it. If you are talking about the icons for the hard drive and other folders you have on the screen, drag and drop them wherever you wish.

The Desktop icons should be easily movable to any location of the desktop you desire, however, I'm wondering if you mean the icons on the Dock (the icon bar that appears when you move your cursor to the bottom of the screen). To move the Dock hold the shift key, click directly on the Dock’s divider line (on the far right side of the Dock), and drag the Dock to the left or right side of your screen.
