How to replace my laptop screen?

  • I bought this Toshiba laptop from newegg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834114907 Shipping was very quick and I was very satisfied with my purchase. Games were running perfectly and everything was OK. Until suddenly (BOOM) a big *** wood shelf I brought from IKEA fell right on top of my arms and laptop and it completely cracked the screen so yeah, it can't be repaired. I was playing Heroes of Newerth and I could still hear the sound and everything was fine. I plugged my laptop from the HDMI slot to the TV and everything was perfectly fine, but my screen was broken. Now here's a big favor I need to ask you guys. I need to find a replacement laptop screen for the Toshiba laptop I bought. I can definitely buy it and do it myself(lol, i said the same about the IKEA shelf) and if you help me find the same laptop screen I'd be very pleased. But it would be OK if you guys find another screen as long as it's compatible(right?) and it's not very expensive. Thanks!

That model is a relatively new model, so the availability of a replacement LCD is going to be rather limited. The only ones you are going to find right now are going to be straight from the manufacturer at a premium price (~$400+). So, you should keep an eye out on ebay for LCD panels for your model, because eventually someone will be selling used LCD Panels for your model once a few people have broken laptops of your model that have usable LCD's.
