In my personal opinion, the MacBook is the best laptop out there. In my experience, Apple products are very durable and long lasting. Did you want just a MacBook, or a MacBook Pro? And with the warranties on Apple products you really can't go wrong. I'm not familiar with the Toshiba laptop so perhaps my opinion is bias. Hope this helps!
Macs tend to be better at art and video editing. They also have some free document editors. And there are also many things that are both for Mac and PC If you are a gamer, sell the laptop and go to this website: http://www.maximumpc.com/article/features/build_a_kickass_500_gaming_pc_play_crysis_40fps Follow the instructions to build your own gaming desktop If you are not a gamer, you should probably sell the laptop for a macbook.
If you are not going to use the computer in the nursing career and need medical type of programs or software, unless you buy them the MAC would probably be a better choice, but a MAC is actually an investment and not an expense. Best advice would be go some where that has the MAC and give it a test run to see if it will do what you need. You will find that it will stay up and running longer and you won't have to trouble shoot and fix issues and problems all the time. But if you want to run and use every kind of software possible, then the Toshiba laptop is the better choice. It's only my opinion that the Toshiba is hard to get back up and running from a total crash, compared to other laptops. I am not a promoter of MAC, but the modern MAC computers you can run Bootcamp or Parallels on the computer and Install two more operating systems to the computer. Windows and Linux with out a lot of issues to deal with. You would have a three operating system computer, leaving you the choice of which one to use. I am sure I will get slammed by this statement, but the main point here is with out a lot of issues.
That depends, what is your major? Art/Photography/Media Editing - Go with the Mac Everything else - Stick with the Toshiba
i would keep the laptop. macs are not as good as they sound, its insane people pay so much for the hardware. and as more people buy macs, the more problems mac will have as well. its like a catch 22 for mac.
