Ok dell laptop screen?

Problems with BRAND NEW dell laptop?

  • Problems with BRAND NEW dell laptop? Ok so i got my dell xps m1530 laptop in yesterday and i was loading kaspersky internet security on it and after that was done, i clicked to update it. When it got to about 80% this blue screen came up and at the bottom it said "Physical dump of Memory" and had a percentage going up. It stayed on that screen for about 5 seconds and restarted automatically and it seemed fine. What does that blue screen mean, and do you think the computer is messed up?? I tried calling dell support but got someone who said it was the software and didnt even consider that it might be the computer. What do you think?

  • Answer:

Reload your system with the system restore disk and don't put Kaspersky back....get Norton 360....it is better and more reliable.

Yeah, thats not a problem with the computer. It sounds more like that program isn't Vista compatible so it had to do the memory dump before the program messed anything up.

I think you should go Mac!

i think you should call them up and exsplain this to them

While you can not rule out a hardware issue, it is more than likely a software issue. Should you continue to see problems with kaspersky, I would uninstall it or look for an update or patch for it.
