Can I use a Logitech multi media speaker to a 50 inch TV?

My old 50 Watts Sony speaker To use with my laptop? How?

  • I have a two 50 watts speaker the reciever of that said speaker died on me already so my concern is can i plug this speaker to use it on my laptop,i love this speaker because if not mistaken its over 15 years now and still produced very good sound, the connector of the speaker is only a black and red colored bare wires for each speaker so overall if i have two speaker the bare wire totalled at four. Can i interconnects this two speaker by soldering the two red and two black wires to each other then solder another stereo jack at the end to connect it to my laptop? My laptop has only two socket in it the HEADPHONE and the MIC, i know i should put it in a HEADPHONE socket, but my concern is can it be done? Anyway i will also include the model of my laptop incase you need to know the sound card in it. thank you in advance Compaq Presario C762NR

  • Answer:

solder the black wires together(ground and negative terminal), and then solder the red wires individually in a 1/8" plug(connectors are available at Radioshack. That way, you can use the speakers for your laptop.

So long as you have a 3.5 pin outlet and pin on speakers have 3.5 pin speaker goes into green socket. If you solder wires as you say you may have problems. For price of speakers buy new ones
