How do you watch ESPN3 on iPad?

How can I stream live out of network games that are on ESPN3 to my iPad. I know--- iPad doesn't have a flash player but have heard there are other ways to do it. I can't use the Watch ESPN app because I don't have one of the cable subscriptions required to use that app. I do however have ESPN at my house, just not via one of the cable companies listed. I have tried skyfire and it has been an epic fail. Keep getting an error message. Thanks!
