Why is this filter not being applied?

Why is my laptop humming? I have cleaned the fan's filter & applied thermal paste.?

  • I applied thermal paste and cleared the fan's filter, which stopped the humming for some time, but about a week later it has started humming loudly again... any idea?

    Its possible you might have some loose hardware. I would check to see if all your screws are tightened and/or hard drive or optical drive are securely mounted. It could be a faulty hard drive as well, if you happen to have a spare you can try swapping it out to see if it that was the issue. It also could be that your cooling fan might be nearing its lifespan and its bearings are wearing out? Unlikely, but possible...depending on how old your laptop is.

try to clean the registry at http://www.freewarefiles.com/AML-Free-Registry-Cleaner_program_37067.html then try to make sure you dont have too many programs running at once of thats not the proglem its a hard ware issue not software! >Joshua Rivers
