Is it possible to run a custom ROM on AVD?

What laptop would you recommend to me?

• I am going to buy a new laptop. I am a big sims fan and my laptop absolutely has to be able to play the sims 3. My current laptop is too slow for the sims 3 and it is so frustrating! Which laptop would you recommend me buying?
