Will Sims 3 run on my netbook?

I Intend to buy Samsung NC 10 Netbook not Notebook. Can i install MS office on it and run smoothly?

  • can I see DVD's smoothly on it with using External DVD drive? The specifications are: Intel Atom processor N270, 1.6 GHz, 1GB RAM, 533 MHz Front Side Bus, 512 KB Level 2 Cache 160 GB Hard Disk, 2.5” HD, 1 GB DDR2 800 MHz Windows XP Home Operation System Screen 10.2" Wide, 1024 x 600 WSVGA , 220 nits I DO NOT want to use Open Office. It would be great if you anybody could give me a rough idea weather above mentions application will run faster on Samsung netbook and IBM X41 thinkpad that i presently use. MY IBM X41 Specification: Intel Mobile processor centrino, 512 MB RAM, 60 GB hard disk, Windown XP professional, I.6 GHz I dont want to buy NETBOOK by fancying the compact size it come in and regrect later for to much compromization over the speed at with applications are run on it. If above mentioned Netbook is going to provide me simlar or faster processing of above mentioned applications comparing to the IBM laptop I bought 2 year back, then I would buy.

    Your IBM lacks memory, for smooth win XP run you need 1Gb. Also on slower systems you should pay attention to what programs are constantly running (the quick look at the area near the clock in windows XP will tell you -- the more icons in there the more programs are running :) Netbook will do office just fine, I am working on a desktop with similar spec for about 4 years already and no lags. Just do maintenance from time to time -- check for viruses, defragment drive and uninstall programs you don't use.

Most Netbooks including the Samsung NC 10 comes with similar processor specification like the Asus Eee PC and Dell Mini. I have tested MS Office applications with Asus Eee PC and Dell Mini. I run both IE7 and Office at the same time and I don't see any lag in them. I have used an external DVD Rom to test out some DVD movies and the speed and quality is pretty good without any internet browser, office or additional applications on the background. Anti virus and other default applications is still running on background while the movie is still playing. I have a Thinkpad T41, Centrino 1.7Ghz and 2G Ram. the performance is better compared to those Netbooks that I mentioned. I will not use Netbook for programming or applications that requires heavy CPU and memory usage. The Samsung is unique compared to the rest of the Netbooks due to the keyboard design. http://www.spoteria.com
