My laptop keeps shutting down?

My computer keeps shutting down even when it's been charging is my laptop battery dead?

  • This is my first time having a laptop. I thought the Laptop batteries last forever, I thought all you have to do is keep charging the laptop. I've had the laptop for 3 years now, is the battery just dead now and no matter how much you charge it...it's no good anymore? Also, would Best buy have these batteries on stock or would I have to place a order in advance for a replacement battery because I don't feel like waiting I have things to do with my laptop. Let me know that way I can order it now so I don't have to wait as long. Thanks. (Best Buy have Toshiba batteries ready available for laptops)
