Has anyone bought a laptop/ computer from bestbuy?

  • I bought a laptop from bestbuy and whenever I went on microsoft word, powerpoint, etc, it always asked me for a product key but I didn't have one so I just ignored it. Now that the 25 times to open the program is over, I can't type or do anything except view files. Has anyone else had this same problem? Do I need to buy the software to be able to go on microsoft word? When I bought my laptop (I bought two from bestbuy), the sales associates never said that we needed to buy extra software so this is a really big dilemma for me since I'm planning on using this laptop when I go away to college.

    It comes with a trial version of Microsoft Office and after the first 30 days, it's over. Save your money my friend and get Microsoft Office 2010 free online. It's a free trial until October, and they're 30x better than Office 2007.

Sounds like a trial version. Costco often has full version, MS Works as well as extending warranty to 2 years. Go back to Best Buy and complain, not sure if they will give you a key but it might work. What is the return period? yes it is normal.... you have 60 days trail ..its even on the box sometimes or it tell you that the first time you open the software. you can get the key from bestbuy ...microsoft ... or use goolge if you know where to look

No computer comes with the full version of Microsoft Office. Your laptop just came with a trial of Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc). You need to buy it separately.

Generally, you get 25 time trial software for Microsoft Office. You have to buy a license for it after that. Thats the way it is with my Asus G60VX gaming laptop i got from BestBuy
