Should I upgrade to OS 3.1.2?

Can I upgrade mac os jaguar to mac os leopard or snow leopard?

    10.2 Jaguar? Good gravy man, that's a grotesquely outdated version of OS X! You absolutely, positively cannot put Snow Leopard on it. Leopard might be possible, but that would depend on whether or not your computer meets the minimum requirements. 10.4 Tiger might be the best you can do. Criminy, even if you could get 10.2 hooked up to the internet, you wouldn't be able to do much as there isn't a single remotely modern web browser you could use on it. Topher, stop posting. Now. You have no clue what you're talking about. Snow Leopard is for Intel Macs ONLY. 10.2 Jaguar predates Intel Macs by a long shot. 10.4.4 was the earliest OS that shipped on Intel Macs. It is impossible to run Snow Leopard on his computer, period. Stop posting ignorant crap before you get people to waste money.

Yup if you willing to pay the $30 USD for it. It might run a bit slow because you're computer is old. Have fun with Snow Leopard.

TBH from the sounds of it, you can't do it. I'm judging that your computer is probably a powerPC processor. Newest rane of mac OS need Intel based processors to work with it. Snow leopard definitely won't work, but leopard might. I would safely say that match it with your specs. If it is a powerful enough computer, then Mac OSX tiger would be the best one to opt for. Or get a new mac...Mac mini or Imac aren't too expensive now.
