How to reduce the physical MEMORY usage in windows7?

i want to reduce the my laptop physical memory usage. it's nearly going to 1.8gb my laptop configurations intel cor2duo process 2gb ram windows 7 os

If you have a 32-bit version of Win7 then 2GB is plenty of memory. Win7 and Vista are both designed to use as much memory as they can. They automatically scale it back when another program needs it. RAM doesn't do you any good if you don't let the OS use it. Unless you are having actual problems then I don't see the point of trying to scale it back just for your peace of mind.

I switched to Ubuntu for that same problem but try going to Task Manager and closing unnecessary applications like trojans and programs that boot up along with your computer.

You can try turning off the Aero Theme. Right-click your Desktop, select the bottom option (Change to own appearance or something), then scroll down the newly opened window until you find Windows Classic. This sure worked for my lil bro's PC, sped up a lot. Also, you can try ending some processes in the Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Del)
