Why do i have a "black" screen when my Sony Vaio wakes uo from screen?

Doesn't sounds like a problem with your graphics card. - Make sure the plugs are into, and attached firmly: a. The back of the monitor (both) b. The back of the computer (usually the blue plug) c. The computer cord is connected to an outlet. - Make sure you have the Monitor turned on. - Check Mother board. a. Unplug the power supply cord. b. Remove the case from you computer. c. Look at all of the fuses(little cylinder things) and make sure that they are all sticking in a straight up position. If there are any black ones or anyone that are knocked down that means that they are blown and you motherboard is fried. - The humming noise is from your power supply. If it is weak, then it means it is going to give out soon. I suggest replacing it. Hope this helps. Oh sorry I didn't see the lap top section. Some of this may not work for you .. but laptops still have motherboards.

the same thing happens with my vaio laptop i honestly regret getting this brand i should have done better research sonny is a good brand but their computers and laptops are something else

my Vaio is not really good. it does the same thing, what i have to do is call my internet provider and make them zap it back on. for some reason the internet messes up my Vaio.

It's ok...because your computer is too slow and too much stuff in it and the version is not up to date so it is not able to show upt quickly... At that point, you just need to clean up the harddrive and then update it and Restart it IF t still not work..try to put your cmputer back to the normal creen in the control panel Good luc to you Buddy

That is known as the Black Screen of Death. Try updating your BIOS, that fixed it for me.
