How can I save my files from the condition my laptop is in now?
-
I buying music from iTunes last night and i was having trouble with playing the music. So I restarted my laptop, after I did this a message came up (it also showed up last month, that time I had to reboot it and it erased all my files) the excat message says "We apologize for the inconvenience, but Windows did not start successfully. A recent hardware or software change might have caused this. If your computer stopped responding, restarted unexpectedly, or was automatically shut down to protect your folders and files, choosee Last Known Good Configuration to revert to the most recent settings that worked. If a previous startup attempt was interrupted due to a power failure or because the power or restet button was pressed , or if you aren't sure what caused the problem, choose Start Windows Normally. Safe Mode Safe Mode with Networking Safe Mode with Command Prompt Last Known Good Configuration (your most recent settings that worked) Start Windows Normally" Every time I restart it the same message comes up. And even if I click "Safe Mode", "Start Windows Normally, or "Last Known Good Configuration" it just brings me back to the same message What can I do it fix it? Can I save my files anyway from the condition my laptop is in?

Answer:
get knoppix is an opensource recovery os it runs off the cd, doesn't touch your harddrive at all, once in you can transfer your files from your harddrve to another portable device like a portable harddrive or flash drive. then just reinstall windows knoppix is free just have to download and burn to cd you will be able to get to your stuff off your harddrive dont know about your home page thats more a browser problem, and then make sure your boot sequence is boot off cd-rom 1st then put the knoppix disc in, and it will boot automatically knoppix is a usable operating system, it runs off the cd and it doesn't touch your stuff at all so the fear of deleting your stuff is not a problem

If you r having the windows cd just boot from the cd and at one time it says press "R" to repair windows, when u press r it will bring you to command prompt like this (c:\>), here type "HELP" it will show you a list of command with detail, use the appropriate one to fix ur problem. OR Use the live window cd (very hard to find) or linux live cd (you can easily find it in any linux related magazine - linux for you), boot it and you will get the desktop just like you use windows, now you can transfer ur data to another partition or on external device. After thet reinstall ur windows. ALL THE BEST.
