Is Limewire bad for laptops?

Does Limewire make MAC laptops slower?

    Limewire will make your Mac slower in that it is downloading software in the background while you are doing other stuff. So if you are on the internet etc., your Mac will be slower. Since there are no released MacOs X viruses, you don't have to worry about them. Someone could send you a malware, but it only install if you put in your password.

I don't know about Macs in particular, but I do know Limewire is not good in general. At my last job, it flooded our network with traffic. The way we found out was that things would get slow certain times of the day (when people would log in). We used a packet sniffer to trace it down. It turns out Limewire was contacting various different computers around the world - constantly - and using up lots of bandwidth.

I work for a tech department and have heard through varies sources that several Limewire locations have been shut down because they were passing on Trojan viruses.......If you plan on using this site or any other sites to download from you need to make sure that your virus software is VERY UP TO DATE

Limewire itself, might contain Malware, or spyware and Yes can slow down your computer. Including Windows AND Mac's.
