Best laptop for holding music and using as quick DJ?

My music is sucking up hard drive space so I want to move it all to it's own device for just music and maybe MSword to type when I'm away from my main machine. Hopefully it would also make a quick and easy portable DJ. With media monkey and it's crossfade this is extremely easy. Any suggestions of what to do? I don't want to be a pro DJ (yet) I just want to save memory and be able to blast my classic soul and samba and new wave on a whim.
