AMD X2 vs Intel Duel Core?

• I'm shopping for laptops and the one factor always comes up. AMD X2 or Intel Centrino duo? AMD is supposed to do better at heavy prosessing and the other multi-tasking. Some sites say AMD is better and some favor intel? One guy at Office Max said that in the notebook size they are equal for the most part. Help? Thanks in advance.

  First off never take anyone's opinion at office max about technology. If they really knew what they were talking about, they wouldnt work at Office Max!! Think about it! Would you take an opinion of a butcher about a broken leg or surgery? I sure hope not!! Anyways, I am a fan of AMD. I have a total of 6 machines, half AMD the other half Intel. AMD can be pushed harder and will stay tough. Intel costs more, which i think you pay more for the name than the processsing power. I would NEVER EVER overclock an Intel Chip to speed up your computer, but AMD is more robust and could take a little more of a beating and costs much less. I dont think i'll ever go back to buying intel. Everytime i get dissapointed. Now dont let the #'s bother you. I'd get an AMD 3000 over and Intel 3.0 gig, and an AMD 3000 is NOT 3gig. It is more like 2.4Gig. But the performance would be almost the same and you'd end up with more money in your pocket. Good luck. Also everyone has their own opinion on this situation!! So take it all as a grain of salt and go with your basic instinct on what you want.
