Acer aspire 3680 Black Screen?

Acer Aspire 3680 battery problem. Help please?!?!?

• Hey everyone, I'm having some problems with the battery life on my Acer Aspire 3680. The battery used to last about an hour and 30 minutes on a full charge, but recently (past 2 days) the battery life has lasted maybe 25 minutes only on a full charge. I will give you some information about the computer. Acer aspire 3680-2633 1.6GHz Intel Celeron M processor 520 80GB HDD 2.5 GB RAM Memory Windows Vista Home Basic Service pack 2 The problem started only a few days ago. I had never installed any service packs, and my computer was running incredibly slow. So, I installed an extra 2 GB of RAM, increasing the total memory to 2.5 GB. It definitely sped up my computer, and even gave me some more battery life. It was working perfectly for about a month, until I decided to install windows vista service pack 1 (I was always told that it was best to install the new service packs). After the installation my pc worked fine, but the battery life was horrible (about 25 minutes on a full charge, as previously stated). I then decided to install windows vista service pack 2, thinking it might solve the problem. It didn't. Since then, I have not installed any new software or programs. I did however already try taking out the newly installed 2gb ram stick, and running it on the original stock .5 gb stick. The battery life was still bad. If any of you could help me in my problem, please do. Thanks in advance!

  Ctrl Alt Del > Task Manager > Processes > click "Show all processes" > see if there is a process using an unusually high percentage. (Besides system idle process) However, I think you just need a new battery.
