How To Repair Gsm?

How do I get past startup repair on Windows 7?

  • Ok, I was relaxing and listening to itunes on my laptop. For an hour I was just doing this, with only itunes and nothing else open, and suddenly my laptop shut down. No warning whatsoever. When i go and turn it back on, The Dell Lgo pops up but quickly vanishes to say: Windows is loading files. Then, the startup repair screen pops up and starts running. I let it finish and its tells me that my computer cannot be fixed automatically. No matter how many times I restart my computer, It doesnt let me get past the start up repair. I tried going into safe mode (All three of them) but it doesnt work- startup repair just pops back up. I try dong a system restore, which claims to work, but when i restart the computer it goes back to startup repair. I even tried runnin Windows Memory dianogistics to see if it might be the hardware's memory. When it finishes running, it says there are no errors and the computer automatically restarts but startup repair keeps showing up. I am seriously at my wits end here and have no idea what to do. I'm considering restoring it to factory settings- but I dont want to lose all my files. What should I do? Thank you in advance.

  • Answer:

Put the Windows 7 CD in and boot from CDROM then select repair computer when the menu pops up. If all options fail, it is possible that something suddenly went bad and needs to be diagnosed and replaced... harddrive, memory, chipset, etc.
