What are good registry cleaners? Is CNET a good place?

I downloaded Argente Registry Cleaner free from CNET because it was rated high by their editors, and it's been great. Argente also had free Disc Cleaner and Start-up Manager, so I got them, too, but I have to admit the Disc Cleaner is hard to figure out what to do once it's finished finding all the junk. So far, none of it has hurt my computer; in fact, it's faster.

A good registry cleaner is a built-in one from CCleaner but from what I've heard, registry cleaners won't affect your computer performance. Anyway, if you're looking for it, it's at ccleaner.com or you can search it up on CNET downloads at download.com. CNET is a GREAT place to download free and paid software. They are really trustworthy as they do multiple scans on every software they upload on the site. It is currently my favorite place to download freeware (and to look at product reviews, tech news, etc...)

You can use a freeware 'ACleaner'. It optimize your system registry by finding and removing errors and invalid entries. For maximum safety, it will make a backup of the repaired entries. You will be able to restore any changes made using the software by choosing Restore registry backup.
