Which processor is the better?

Which processor is better? intel® Core™ i5-2410M processor or Intel® Core™ i7-2630QM processor?

  • which processor would be faster? as i think that i7 may be older. not entirely sure. which would be better??

    The i7's are better but not in laptops. They have to reigned back to idle at 2.0Ghz because they get to hot, so no good for gaming in laptops.

Dpends on what your work is but for the overall i7 is the best for heavy duty, programming,graphing and all but if ur a normal user who surfs the web , uses adobe products, works on excel and charting i5 is definitley the best u also would want to take a look at the cost i7 costs more since it is for professionals i5 is good for normal users like us and is not that costy i would prefer i7 for speed but not for cost since i dont use all that pro stuff i5 would be good for its fast speed and normalness. but i7 is the best no question

the i7 is a quad 2ghz. the i5 is a duo 2.3ghz. a quad core would be better at multitasking. both of them are the same generation. the quad i7 would have an advantage with newer games as newer games are starting to be able to utilize all 4 cores.

Well I'm a normal user who has the 2410m, i'm using it now But if you want to do more demanding work such as editing or gaming I would go with the i7 as it is faster and has 4 cores as opposed to the i5 having 2 cores.

Nope... the i7 is in the same generation as the i5 you have listed. The i5 is duo core and i7 is Quad, hence QM. To answer your question, the i7-2630QM is faster.
