Are there free TV and movies on iPhone's iTune?

Will the Asus Eee PC 1005PE run movies in iTunes?

  • I want to a buy a netbook for under $400. I need it to do 3 basic things: 1) run video to video skype 2) run movies/TV shows in iTunes 3) general web surfing Will the Asus Eee PC 1005PE be able to handle iTune movie watching? I tried to google it for a good answer, but I kept coming across contradictory opinions (some say "yes, absolutely" others say "no way"). If the Asus Eee PC 1005PE won't run iTunes movie watching, can you suggest another netbook? OR another program/another way to LEGALLY watch movies with no wifi? (I know external DVD drives are available, but that is not an option for me.)

  • Answer:

If you're buying one that runs Windows, then there is no reason why it shouldn't be able to run iTunes. Granted iTunes is a large, bloaty piece of software, but your hardware should be able to run it. If you're going to buy one powered by a Linux distro, i'd recommend installing one of the many free (and yes, LEGAL) open source multimedia applications. MPlayer is great if you want something light (can run in a console enviro) or Amarok for something more full featured. You can even run iTunes in Linux under Wine (albeit terribly). So, i'd give that a "yes".
