What is the best laptop for under $700, for games, music and internet?

  • i just got at&t wireless internet at my home and would like a laptop to play games, listen to music and surf the internet (check email, play yahoo games) from the couch or bed, i do have a desktop computer but just want a laptop for fun. the biggest game i might play would be rollercoaster tycoon, other than that just solitare, and yahoo games. i am looking at the Toshiba Satellite a215-s5848 $549.99 and Toshiba Satellite a215-s5849 $599.99 but am open to other options. I am not good with any computer lingo so all the descriptions are kind of confusing to me, like what is the difference between 2BGpc2-5300 ddr2 and 200gb 4200rpm hdd. any help would be greatly appreciated. also if anyones knows of a web site that could help me understand the lingo and what means what would be great. thank you so much, sorry it got kind of long

    Just go with HP. They do stand the test of time. My HP desk top is still running like it was brand new and it's 10 years old running XP Pro. My laptop I just got was custom made and was about $3000.00 cause of all the upgarde options I choose, but was a lot chaeper than other companys out there. Hp does make great laptops starting at $500.00. Toshiba's do have a lot of problems once your the year warrenty is up. 2gb stands for your Ram size and 200gb 4200rpm is the size and speed of your hard drive.

hey, i used to have a toshiba satelitte laptop and i would say your best bid is NOT to buy one, they can become a great hassle. Im from the UK, so im not sure whats on for sale in the US, but if there is a make called E System, they are a fantastic make and would suit ur needs, and also very cheap
