Laptops and netbooks? ?

are the mini laptops/netbooks worth having? i basically want something i can use word documents on for typing, and to look on the internet. and maybe have pictures on, but unsure whether its worth buying a netbook or getting the bit of extra cash and just getting a laptop?

Answer:
The screen is small. The keyboard is small (but big compared to a cell phone). The processor is slow. There is no DVD drive. The hard drive small. But, if it is only to be a fancy PDA, it does its job.

i would recommend a netbook. especially if you just need it for typing and internet browsing/ picture uploading. my roommate had 1 in college and it really useful. very portable and easy to carry around. small, didnt get hot, perfect for what he needed writing papers, and browsing reddit/youtube/facebook. however, just get 1 with a good battery life if u plan on taking it around.
The ideal personal computer would have the power of a super computer and the portability of a wristwatch. Unfortunately, such a computer can be found only on Star Trek reruns, so all of us in the real world must make some choices. Your choices will probably be based on what you require in the following two categories: • Performance and features: Refers to the GHz of processor speed, pixels of screen area, megabytes of memory, type and number of drives (such as a DVD drive), and other characteristics. • Range of use: Refers to the mobility of a Tablet PC or laptop and how it extends the way you use it. Laptops can rival all but the higher-end desktops in performance and features. Plus laptops can be easily carried to convenient locations or on trips. Tablet PCs offer the best combination of performance and range of use, but they can't offer everything to everybody. Let's look at how Chris and Frank evaluated their needs in these two categories.
For what you do you might as well get a notebook because you could save a bit of dosh and you can bring the notebook everywhere and it is smaller then the laptop! :D
It depends what you want to use it for. If you just want to use it for word documents, the Internet and some pictures, then a notebook, but if you need more than that, buy a laptop. I recommend getting a laptop, because you have no idea what you might use it for. Keep in mind that notebooks don't have disk drives, so you can't install any software on a disk, such as Microsoft Office. Hope I helped and good luck with your decision! :)
just get a laptop, the prices of netbooks are dropping so much that after few years you will not even get half of the price you paid for it
Screen size and processor are by far the greatest flaws with the netbooks....
laptops are cool until the keys stop working, buy a pc instead.
im using a netbook and im really happy with it, its fine for all my basic needs on the go, coolest thing is its battery life, can use it much more than any laptop.... For gaming and heavy stuff i have a desktop at home :p
It's better laptop
