How does Sony make OEM drivers for laptops?

• I always wondered about this but how does Sony make there drivers for there laptops? Like I noticed there video card drivers is OEM and not generic so I just wondered how they make there own drivers. Or do they use generic drivers and modify them to work best for certain laptops like mine? My video card is a Intel HD graphics card and I have a Sony laptop that has that card. I don't have the Intel HD 2000 or 3000. I have the original Intel HD that was made in 2010.

  you are partially correct. the computer manufacturers pay third-party companies (such as Intel) to custom build parts for their systems. then they supply drivers, which the mfr. may modify, or have the company modify for them (such as branding them with the mfr.'s logo), and then puts the custom drivers in the computer, or available on their website. often times, a company's drivers may be newer than the custom ones, but occasionally, the newer drivers may not work at all with the computer! the same can be true of the BIOS for a motherboard vs. the BIOS for an OEM motherboard of the same (or similar) model number. you should always use software verified for use with your hardware, to ensure cooperative usage amonst all parts...
