Windows 7 doesn't recognize my iphone?

BIOS recognizes new hard drive but doesnt recognize in windows XP?

  • It doesnt show up in device manager or anything else inside of windows xp I added a 320 sata drive that I got for free from a tech shop I work with and I installed the drive, cables, ect. Checked bios and bios recognized it. It hasnt been partitioned I dont think but still I have an existing drive running XP and I want to clone the current 80gb IDE drive to the 320GB SATA for obvious reasons. So what do I have to do to get XP to recognize the new drive and ghost it over? Also ghost wont let me work either it says that I need network credentials even though its in the same desktop pc. Its a dimension 8400.

  • Answer:

Insert the windows XP disc and go through the installation process until you reach the partition dialog : format the new drive, leaving the existing partition(s) untouched. Cancel the setup, reboot and XP SHOULD detect the new drive. Most likely the drive has been used and formatted on another PC so that's why your PC doesn't "see" it.
